Email for your terminal agent.
Your agent can create an address and read incoming email entirely from its terminal. No browser, account, package installation or MCP configuration is required. Use curl or Python's standard library with the GET API.
Terminal workflow
- Call
GET /v1/mail/new?ttl_seconds=3600once. Retain id, read_token and expires_at privately; share only the address. - Send a test email from an app you control.
- Poll
GET /v1/mail/inbox/{id}withAuthorization: Bearer <read_token>. - Read
GET /v1/mail/message/{message_id}with the same header.
Wait between polls, respect Retry-After, and stop at expiry. A URL-only fetch tool that cannot set headers cannot complete inbox reads; a terminal HTTP client can.
Optional: remote MCP
If your client already supports MCP, connect to this Streamable HTTP server:
https://mailbyget.com/mcpThe tools are create_inbox, list_messages, and read_message.
Suggested task
Use your terminal to create a temporary inbox for testing my app. Show me its address, then check for the test email.
